(I wrote this blog post 5 days ago and never got around to posting it so I am just going to edit to update ;)
-Ethan has been doing much better with textures. We have added grilled cheese, french toast, scrambled eggs, steamed carrots, grapes, turkey, banana bread, pumpkin cake, and more. It is awesome to be able to give him food with out him throwing it back up!
-My mom is coming on Wednesday to take care of Ethan while we get some stuff done for the new house. Can't wait to see her but also wondering how I will do (and Ethan) when I am not here all day. [EDIT: Mom was here until Sunday and it was a HUGE help. She stayed at the old house with Ethan while we got lots of painting and tearing off drywall done. Ethan was more excited to see Grandma in the mornings than he was me! Oh well that's ok because I am glad they got some bonding time]
-Our house is a disaster. Boxes here. Bags there. Toys everywhere. Can't wait for a clean house.
-I have been a city girl all my life. That's 30 years in case you were wondering. Now... well we will be living in the country. Hoping I like it. The view is awesome that's for sure.
-Ethan has been doing awesome with walking. We weighted his little car so he could walk with it and he got the hang of it really quick and now we don't even have to weight it down anymore! He has taken a few steps on his own but a little ways from walking. Progress though and I love to watch it! Should be interesting with the new house as it has lots of wood flooring.
-Ethan has been doing better with his pincer grasp too.
-Ethan is signing: more, all done, eat, dog, please
-Ethan has been trying so hard to say kitty and tic toc. I think he just likes how it sounds.
-Ethan loves to watch the kitty's around the neighborhood. Ethan might be getting a kitty of his own with the new place.
-It was sleeting at the new place the other day. It only sprinkled here. Hmm. The new place is considered the coldest spot in the nation. It is only 20 miles from here. What are we thinking? LOL!
-Pinterest is one of the best websites!
-Ethan climbs on everything. Including the boxes throughout the house.
-It was Mark's birthday last week. We had dinner and picked up flooring. Exciting huh?

-What do you think was standing to my left when I took this picture? Mark with dog treats and dancing to get Ethan's attention of course!
-Did you know that if you put too much dishwashing soap in the dishwasher that it can permanently ruin your glasses. I often times put too much in and didn't think anything of it. I have tried scrubbing them with hydrogen peroxide/baking soda as well as vinegar. Neither worked. If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them.
-Did you know that putting a bowl of half vinegar and half water in the microwave for 5 minutes will make cleaning the microwave A LOT quicker and easier? Found that tip on pinterest and tried it. Very true.
-I love Project Life. I have been keeping up with Ethan's scrapbook since his first birthday this way. It is sooo much easier and the best part is... I am keeping up with it! I highly suggest it. I think I might use it to catch up on some of our childhood pics too. I plan on posting pictures of this album some day. For right now I will just tell you about it ;) It did come as a kit with an album, journal cards and page protectors. Last I checked she was sold out of them but will be getting more in.
-When we first looked at our current house I thought "Oh I am probably not going to like the laundry room right next to the baby's room." Now my thought is "what are we going to do for noise for Ethan to go to sleep with the laundry room at the other end of the house!" Funny how things change.
-I love coupons. I have just started loving them. I have found this blog that is the best for telling you where great deals are. It points out the best deals at walgreens, target, walmart and albertsons along with a few other stores. It is awesome because it shows you how to pair up coupons with sales and save the most money. It even has links to online coupons.
-I love Nicholas Sparks. Did you know he came out with a new book? I haven't ordered mine yet since I don't want it to get lost in the mail. Funny story... My sister asked me where she should mail Ethan's Christmas presents. I asked her why. She said she didn't know if we would be able to get mail at our new place or if we had to ride down the mountain on our ponies to get it. LOL! She cracks me up. Yes we will have mail. However we will have to use a P.O. box so I will kind of feel like we have to ride into town for our mail.
-I worry about the day Ethan gets a girlfriend. I think I might have my hands full with this cutie!

-Speaking of girls. So Ethan loves to drum. Most likely because his dad drums a lot on random things. Me? Well I don't have much of a beat. But Mark was telling Ethan that he should be a drummer because girls dig drummers. I said, no, drummers always have weird faces when they drum. Well it looks like Ethan has that part down already! Lol!

Yep so that about sums it all up. If we could fast forward 2 weeks I think I would be ok with that. It will all be worth in the end. Right?
in a month it will be a memory, love it while you can. each day is a new gift. Love the pictures and the blog, keep it up, you don't seam so far away then.
ReplyDeletelove grandpa Arlan
I love the pictures. He is going to be a little drummer. I really enjoyed having that special bonding time with little Ethan. He is such a special little guy and is such a delite to be around. He never cries, he just smiles. It was his way of melting Grandma's heart.
ReplyDeleteLove and miss you all,
