Friday... day 35

So I got up this morning trying to get some things done at the house before I headed to Great Falls for Ethan's 2:00 cares. Ugh there just seems to be a lot that needs to be done! Including re-painting the nursery. We painted it a light green a few months ago but now I have decided I don't like it so my mom and I are going to do some painting when she comes to visit in 2 weeks. Now I have to decide if I still want to do a green or maybe a light blue? I am hoping that we might get our bedroom painted too ;) For those of you that may not know... we bought our house in February and have done a lot of things to the house but we planned on more time before our little guy was here so now I want to finish up a few of those things before he comes home. (But nurses... if you want us to take him home before we get those projects done that is totally fine by us! ;)

Today he was doing really well on the vent and they continued to lower his rate on it. They are talking about taking him off the vent tomorrow if he continues to do well. Since he was doing so well I held him for an hour. I could sit here for hours just rocking him and staring at him. He is so darn cute! He is continuing to digest his food so they are continuing to increase the amount that he gets. I asked the nurse how long he was now and she told me he is just under 16 inches long! He has grown over an inch! She also told me that she could see him being over 6 pounds by the time he leaves the hospital!

  1. Leah, Madi's room is a lighter sky blue and I'm going to try a cloud painting technique. I'll send you pics if you want to try it out - I found it online!

I also saw in a house once where a mom had stenciled a children's poem she wrote on her son's wall. In another house I saw where the mom put nursery rhymes all over the walls in different colors....just some ideas if you're looking... My favorite was a room painted in a very dark navy blue with white trim - across the top she stenciled twinkle little star and did gold and silver stars and a beautiful white moon. It was sooooo neat!!! I wish I had kept the pictures I'd taken - it was all for virtual tours for selling their houses but still!!

  2. I wish I could come help you with painting and house projects and all the other projects I am sure you have. But Don't worry, I am working on my own projects for you! :)
It is so awesome that your mom has been able to be there as much as she has been. Bless her for that!

So why are you changing the green? Just don't like it? What are you thinking? Sorry to be so questioning but interior design is what I truely love... it's my weakness

Ethan is getting so big!!! I can't wait to see more pics of him! I keep a pic of him on my phone as my screensaver, he is just a peanut!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
