8 months

Wow! Where has the time gone! Ethan is already 8 months old today. He is getting so big so quick! Today the goal was to get a family picture done so I could finally get Christmas cards ordered and hopefully have them out by Christmas (once upon a time I got them out right after Thanksgiving) but Ethan decided to take a nap and then Dad followed suite. So Ethan woke up but Dad decided to cuddle with him so both Ethan and Dad fell back asleep. They woke up... yep right when it got dark out. So no family picture done yet...

At 8 months old Ethan is....
-Sleeping through the night... usually 10 hours (hallelujah! Do you see the lights shining down!)
-Eats 5-7 ounces of mom's milk
-Loves to stand with our help
-Getting better at sitting but still needs our help
-smiley.... and OH SO smiley right away in the morning... love waking up to this little boy!
-loves to watch videos on the computer... we will pull up clips of disney movies and lately Christmas videos
-Health is doing great... no medications and hasn't gotten sick ... yet (crossing our fingers through the season!)
-loves to watch the dogs... laughs at them when they walk by him
-Sooooo close to rolling over from his back to belly actually he did roll over on Wednesday and again on Saturday!
-found his toes... so cute! I love how he reaches his toes and then rolls to his side
-babbles... loves to chit chat... at times I think he says hi or mama but then I don't know if that is just mama's ears ;)
-loves to grab on to things... mom's hair, the neck of our shirts, his pant legs, toys, blankets
-moving into 6 month clothes... I put some wranglers on him that were so cute... they were 3-6 months but way too long but too tight in the belly... poor child doesn't have height going for him... my mom says he has a chance of height from my dad but since that is his only glimmer of hope I doubt it ;)
-He did get to see his aunt Lori and Uncle Matt, Aunt Holly & Uncle Scott, AND grandma n grandpa Sloan the other night... on Skype... Ethan seemed pretty interested in it but we went past his bedtime so he got sleepy
-He definitely recognizes our voice... when Mark comes home from work he looks at him and smiles and the one time I left for the day he smiled when he heard my voice again... then when he has a dr. apt or and apt with the pt he just stares at them

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
