Our Wisconsin Trip....

So we headed to Wisconsin on December 3rd to see friend and family. Oh yeah and to move our stuff from our storage shed in WI to MT. We flew in to Milwaukee where Mark's parents picked us up and we stayed at their new home for the night. We were actually lucky that we didn't fly into LaCrosse that night because they were getting freezing rain.

The next morning we got up early to head to La Crosse because we knew this trip was packed full of things that needed to be done and of course a few things we wanted to do. The first thing was to open the storage shed. Sounds easy right? Well not so much since we left the key back in AZ! So Mark and his dad brainstormed all the different ways they could get the lock off. So the first stop was to his dad's trailer to get some tools for this project. Mark was really confident that it wouldn't take long at all and of course I, well I had my doubts! It was really really cold for us so I stayed in the truck while Mark and his dad tackled the lock. Of course they got it off in about 5 minutes and Mark was pretty proud! It's been awhile since he has got to do a project involving "manly tools!" They got the lock cut so Mark turned around to me and did this:

Yes he was proud!

After this we ran around town for some errands we had to do while we were there. That night Mark's brother Paul and Jessie had everyone over for a nice deep fried turkey dinner. It was great to see everyone again!

Saturday started off with meeting the Sloan family for breakfast in Holmen. Then off for some coffee with my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mark who drove from Viroqua to see us. It was so nice to catch up with them although we didn't get to spend much time with them... thanks for understanding guys! Then we went off to Alethia's house to see her new house and of course Trooper, their dog. Then Alethia joined us for lunch to meet up with David and Megan Dunn and 1/2 pint... Magen is expecting to have a baby in February. David and Magen drove all the way from Minneapolis to see us! Thanks guys... we loved seeing you! I think I have only seen Magen once when she was not preggo! I love her belly tho... she is so cute pregnant! Of course after lunch we stopped into a new baby boutique downtown La Crosse. After that I tried to sneak in a nap because I was exhausted but it didn't happen. Then we were off to dinner at Piggy's with Shawn and Megan Colgan. The food was great as always. After dinner we went to their new house to have a few cocktails and chat. It was so good to see everyone! It definitely was a full day and thank you so much to everyone for understanding that we wanted to spend a whole week with each and everyone of you but we just didn't have the time!

Sunday Mark got up to start loading the u-haul with his brother Peter so I went to the People's Food Co-Op with his sister in law Kelly for a vegan muffin and coffee...hmmmm I loved it! Then we were off for some shopping... I could not have dreamed of a better morning... thanks Kelly! Then Mark met me at the mall to meet up with our good friend Ashley for lunch at the Olive Garden. It was so nice to catch up with her... and thanks so much for driving all the way from Madison just to meet us for lunch! After lunch we decided to stop by our old neighborhood. We stopped by to say hi to Wes and Lindy and then off to Char and Willie's! Of course Willie offered us a drink right away and it wouldn't be like Mark if he didn't slip in 2 drinks while we were there! We miss Char and Willie... I could not imagine ever having such great neighbors like them again! Then we swung by Mark's grandparents house. Mark's grandpa said something a little shocking and funny but I will have to post about that later ;)

Sunday night we met up with the Sloan family again for dinner at Edwardos where my good friend Kayla came to meet up. I wish we had more time together but unfortunately it didn't happen... thanks for swinging by Edwardo's girl... I miss ya! Then we headed to the bowling alley for some bowling... Mark was not the best player let's just say that!

We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone! So many people helped us out in so many ways and invited us to do so many things! It was so great to see everyone again... I know it meant a lot to Mark too since it's been a year since he has been in WI.

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
