It's about time huh!?!?!?

Things have been so crazy around here.  Mark has been working on some house projects and I have been working on projects that need to be done before the baby gets here.  The biggest one right now is the crib bedding.  I have 2 crib sheets made and the bed skirt.  I am hoping to get the bumper done today.  So excited to see it all together.  Hmmm guess we should order a crib for her huh?!?!?  We were going to use Ethan's but we realized Ethan's crib converts to a toddler bed, day bed and also a full size head board and foot board so we are just going to order another one like it only this time in white.

This pregnancy has not been easy.  Lots of pain.  Lots of restrictions on what I can do.  2 weeks ago we found out why I am having all this pain.  It is called sacculation caused by the cerclage that I had done.  Nothing they can do for me but it's not dangerous for the baby.  Glad to know why I am having the pain I just wish they could do something to help it.  She is still in my belly growing big, kicking and hiccuping a lot so we are happy with that.  Here is an ultrasound picture from my 26 week appointment.  I am now 28 weeks.  Ethan was born at 25 weeks 6 days so we are doing good!

We also found out that they will be delivering the baby at 37 weeks (August 16th) as long as she passes the lung test on August 15th.  This is because when I had delivered Ethan it was an emergency c-section.  They cut my stomach going across but once they saw how he was positioned they had to cut my uterus going up and down.  They don't like to twist and turn babies when they are so little and fragile like Ethan was.  We were told that delivering at 37 weeks the baby could have trouble keeping it's temperature and eating.  I really don't want to have to see the NICU rooms again but if that's the case its got to be easier than Ethan's entrance into this world right?!?!?!?

So we have 9 weeks until baby girl joins our family.  The due date has been Mark's deadline to remodel the kitchen.  He was a little shocked when his deadline got cut by two weeks.  Luckily that same day his parents called and offered his dad to come and visit us for 2 weeks to help with the kitchen remodel!  We are so excited for his visit.  We pick him up tomorrow morning.  Should be interesting how this pregnant woman handles a kitchen remodel!  I hope to post pictures on the progress.

And of course some recent pictures.....

Ethan likes going down the slide head first...

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
