Thank you!

So last Sunday we had Ethan's baptism celebration and it went really well. We were able to get Mark's parents on skype so they were able to be a part of it. Later we skyped with a few more relatives too. My mom and Rudy had an awesome lunch served at their place afterwards. Thank you so much for all the gifts Sunday and the ones we have been receiving in the mail. It was nice to have an actual celebration for him. It was pointed out to me that many babies get baptized in the hospital... not just preemies and they have a celebration too.

Saturday morning we got up and took out my mom and Rudy's new 4 wheeler. After that Ava wanted to take Ethan for a ride.

Are they not the cutest!?!?!?

She was a pretty good driver. Except when she was a little jerky Ethan hit his head on the bar... just a few times though! lol!

Here are just a few pictures from the baptism...

The pastor was explaining to the children what it means to be baptized. My niece Ava is on the left and Madison is on the right. Ethan is in my cousin Drew's arms on the left.

Ethan didn't really like her hand on his head! lol!

And my nephew Aidan....

On the way to Cody there were a ton of sunflower fields that I found myself gazing at. Then I started to wonder why all the sunflowers were facing the same way. Thank goodness for internet on my phone as I was able to get an answer to my question! In case you were wondering too, this is what I found:
A common misconception is that sunflowers track the sun.[7] In fact, mature flowerheads typically face east and do not move. The leaves and buds of young sunflowers do exhibit heliotropism (sun turning). Their orientation changes from east to west during the course of a day.[8] The movements become a circadian response and when plants are rotated 180 degrees, the old response pattern is still followed for a few days, with leaf orientation changing from west to east instead.[9] The leaf and flowerhead bud phototropism occurs while the leaf petioles and stems are still actively growing, but once mature, the movements stop. These movements involve the petioles bending or twisting during the day then unbending or untwisting at night.
Of course I had to stop to get a few pictures!

And now that Ethan is baptized Mark figured he could celebrate with a cigar! LOL!
Just Kidding! It's actually celery. Ethan is having some issues eating foods with a lot of textures and a therapist advised me to try getting him to chew on celery and carrots. It could also be a sensory issue so we are going to get him a sandbox. I know. I thought the same thing. What?!?! But I guess if they get used to textures on their body that they may allow them in their body. So we will see. Stinky thing is this therapist is the closest one that could help and she is in Billings. So it looks like we might be making another trip South if he doesn't start taking textures soon.

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
