Wooo

Life got a little crazy there for a bit! We are not use to a lot of comotion and then we a lot of it for a week straight. It was so much fun though. It started out with Mark's parents coming to viist. They were scared that Ethan was going to take a little bit to warm up to them and I wasn't sure either. Nope. Not even a minute. He woke up to them in the truck with him and he was all smiles! Here is grandma with Ethan....
And Grandpa with Ethan....
Then Aunt Lori and Uncle Matt drove from Washington to also help celebrate Ethan's birthday. Here is Lori and Ethan....
And the whole family.... Ethan was more into his cell phone string than looking at me...
We celebrated Ethan's birthday with a cake made by... me ;)
And here is the cake in color.... Oh how I learned that I will not be picking up cake decorating as a new hobby (like I don't have enough hobbies the way it is!) The head was just rice krispies covered with frosting. The red (ok so it kind of looks pink but it was supposed to be red ok ;) was carrot cake. The bottom layer was a chocolate later with a creamy chocolate layer inside it. So it didn't turn out as beautiful as I had hoped but it tasted good! This was confirmed by Mark's co-workers as they got the left overs!
Mark seems to think that Ethan is drawn to wood which excites him as he plans to spend many hours with E in the garage. I think he is easily entertained ;)
Ethan's favorite part about opening gifts was the curly ribbon!
Lori and Matt brought their puppy with. Well, I am not sure how many people would consider him a puppy. They say he is 9 months. He is 90 pounds! The dogs loved the company though so they spent a lot of time outside playing.
Here is E in his new little wagon. He fits perfectly in it. And in a few months I am sure this is what he will be using to tote his toys around ;)
Then we went to my mom & Rudy's house to celebrate with family there. Here is my Aunt Diane with E....
Here is my nephew, Aidan. He has HUGE feet and hands. He is just 5 months older than Ethan. They can't find any shoes that will fit him because his feet are just so thick. He is such a cutie....
And my niece, Ava. She was a little shy this time so this was one of the few pictures I got of her...
Grandma Dawn got wind that Ethan liked curly ribbon so she headed straight to the store to get lots of it!
Ethan got a cake to smash in to. No... he didn't get to taste it. I know, such a mean mom. (Considering he has puked a few times before this picture I thought it was best not to.. more on that later) Ethan didn't really know what to think of it so Dad took ahold of both of his hands and played drums in the cake. Ethan still didn't know what to think....
Thank you so much to all of you that helped celebrate Ethan's 1st birthday weather you were here, an email, a text, or a gift in the mail. We thank you all! This last year has been amazing!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
