Uff da!

These last few weeks have been busy!

2 weeks ago it was my birthday... no need to throw out any numbers we will just leave it at "it was my birthday." Mark and I went to Whitefish for the day while a good friend came to watch Ethan. It was kind of crazy to be away from him for so long. On the way to Whitefish there was a HUGE scrapbook store! It was like heaven. I didn't know there were scrapbook stores in MT let a lone a gigantic one! I was in heaven!
We got this picture from the sitter with the text saying "I'll feed myself thank you very much!" Too funny!

Then we stopped at a hotel for a glass of wine.

The next day Mark said that I could spend the whole day in my scrap room and he would watch Ethan. Ahhhh it was so great! Mark asked me to come down for a second and I found this:

We bought Ethan a bob stroller that came in the mail a few days before. It is set up next to our front door waiting for the weather to be nice enough to use it!

Then Ethan had to get his synagis shot in Great Falls. He has to get them monthly through RSV season. They hurt pretty bad but he seems to be taking it better lately even though he gets poked twice now for it! Of course I took this opportunity to talk to the nurse about switching him to formula. I had decided that it was just time. He doesn't nurse so I pump AND feed him. But while I pump he has been getting into things so I have to stop multiple times to get him out of trouble! The nurse then decided to tell me that I really should try continue pumping and that if I got him to nurse that it would make it easier on me. Ok. Fine. I will try it. Yeah, did I mention he has a took coming in! Let me tell you... it is a sharp tooth! Needless to say I was in tears. So back to pumping AND feeding him.

Then Ethan had an eye checkup in Billings. The Dr. said that his eyes looked great. He couldn't tell that he was a preemie by looking at his eyes at all. He said that he was a little farsighted but that was normal with full term babes and nothing to worry about. This is awesome news but kind of funny to look back to June when we were med flighted to Billings because he need to have his eyes operated on immediately. Once we got there his eyes had gotten better and no surgery was needed!

I had my mom come up to help me with Ethan because Mark and I had appointments at the same time.
Since we were there Mark thought he might as well get his wisdom teeth out too. (There is only one oral surgeon in GF and it wasn't covered by our insurance.) So Mark got there and they took an xray of his teeth. They said he had a few extra teeth. Well yeah that is why he was there. No... he had 6 wisdom teeth! Yes 6! They told him that he didn't have to take them out but that he would have problems with them when he is 80! Yet the lady said that it would have been better if he would have taken them out when he was 17. So, when I got there I walked in and no one saw me. The ladies were talking about the guy that was in the surgery room and how he was really going to be a hurtin unit. He had 4 bonies! They were a little surprised when I spoke up and asked if they were talking about my husband. Once Mark was done he looked, hmm, well not good. He looked like he had been in a major accident. His recovery has been going surprisingly well so far. He still has some pain and finally getting some food in his body.

Since we were in Billings we decided to take a few days and spend in Cody with my family. Of course everyone loved seeing Ethan and he was full of smiles. Thankfully he hasn't gotten to the stranger anxiety stage yet. He doesn't see other people that often so I always wonder how he is going to react. Well Grandma decided to teach Ethan a new trick while we were there. She was constantly vibrating her lips at him. When we got home we thought he was trying to talk but then we realized what he was really trying to do. He was trying to vibrate his lips (blowing rasberies is a term I have heard before). We have been trying to teach this kid to do "so big" and put his arms in the air for months and every time we do it he just laughs at us. He thinks its the funniest thing in the world. Grandma vibrates her lips a few times and boom he wants to do it too! Kids I tell you! lol! I did get a little video of Ethan doing this the other night. Maybe a video will be posted next ;)

Note: all these pictures were pictures off my phone ;)

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
