Rock Star!

So Ethan has been on the low flow canula for a few days now. He was on 1 1/2 liter yesterday morning then he went to 1 liter and when I left last night he was at 3/4 liter. When I got here this morning he was down to 1/8! He is currently at 1/4 liter after a little episode he had but hey he is still doing awesome! We tried feeding him a bottle today and he did ok with it. Not great but hey it has been awhile since he did the bottle in Billings. With a little practice I am sure he will do fine. They are still needing to ween his feedings down. Right now his feedings are over 2 hours 15 minutes and the goal is 30 minutes.

After my last post about mosquitos and the few comments I got I realized that we don't have a stroller yet! I have a net for the stroller and I just crocheted a blanket for a stroller but just realized we don't have an actual stroller! Any suggestions out there on what to get? We need something that can handle tough terrain because Shelby doesn't have the greatest sidewalks... that is where there actually are sidewalks!

Mark and I are tentatively planning on going to Glacier this week. The nurses that are on that day are all experienced and I feel ok leaving him for the day. I am just praying he continues to have good days like this because it is so awesome to see him feeling much better!

Keep on Rockin'- at this rate we might not even get to see you guys head out with Ethan in a carseat! I was looking forward to poppin' champagne and confetti, maybe I will pass the ideas on to the nurses. Enjoy your BIG BOY!!

  2. Anything the netting will match should be good. And maybe one that you can take the wheels off and attach skiis would be nice.

  3. I bought Mike an InStep jogging stroller from amazon.com. Definitely get a 3 wheel over a 4 and make sure the front wheel swivels - that way its not super inconvenient to turn on a dime:) Our car seat just straps on top of the stroller...we will totally spring for a bob when we have 2 kiddos and will need the 2 seater. Let me know if you have any questions. Great job Ethan!!!!

  4. I don't have much experience in the stroller department yet, but like you need a jogger. They make ones that you can go from car seat age to toddler age, so you would get good use out of it.

Have fun at Glacier! Take pics for me. I have always wanted to go there!

Ethan is a Rockstar! Keep it up buddy! What an amazing little boy he is. So little yet so strong! speaking of little, how big is Ethan now? I haven't heard for a while.

Counting the days till you all go home!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
