Saturday/Sunday....

Saturday Mark had to go to work since he originally had the days off that his parents were here but he had to switch that around because of our unexpected trip to Seattle. So his parents and I went for a walk, went out for lunch at a local restaurant, stopped at a gift shop and got some coffee. I was waiting for Mark to call so that I could start dinner right away because the plan was to have dinner ready when he got home so we could run out the door to see Ethan. He was told the night before that he could hold him. Well Mark called at 4:30 and said that he was going to be home late from work and it was going to be a few hours yet! What! Mark has had to work late one other night since being in MT so why tonight? Why? The night that he gets to hold his son and his parents are in town? Why? Thankfully his co-worker had told a supervisor that Mark had family in town so he ended up getting off work by 6:00. So we shoved our mouths full and headed to see Ethan. And yes Mark did get to hold him! This is only the second time Mark has got to hold him! I love watching him hold him... its so sweet ;)

Sunday... Happy one month birthday Ethan!
We called in the morning to see how Ethan was doing and he had a good night. So Mark took his dad out for an hour to shoot some gophers while his mom and I finished getting ready and I got to catch up on few things that needed to be done around the house. Mark does an awesome job of keeping things picked up and laundry but there are things like paper work/bills and random laundry that needed to be done.

Once we got to Ethan they offered to let me hold him since he was doing pretty good. Of course I said yes. I only held him for a little while though because he was getting tired out. Our pastor came up to visit with us and have communion shortly after. After tucking Ethan in we went out for dinner and headed home. Mark and I sat up looking at Mark's baby pictures that his mom brought out to us. Mark didn't have dark hair as a baby... it was more like a sandy brown like Ethan's. Mark was such an adorable baby!

I had to take a picture of Ethan's stitches since they will be coming out soon!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
