Thursday

Today the nurses said that there is still nothing growing in his blood or urine culture. That is a good thing. It means that so far there is no sign of infection. There was still yeast in his tube though that the antibiotics took care of. They took him off his blood pressure medication which is a good sign. He has a line in his head for where they give him blood. It is so sad looking. I can't wait until that comes out.

So Mark was back to work again today. I realized that when he is gone I try to hold my tears in more since there are always nurses around and I don't want to get to the point where I have all these nurses hugging me! But man oh man the moment I get to the apartment the waterfall starts! I want so badly to be able to spend every night with Mark but the driving 80 miles one way is a lot in gas and wear on a vehicle. I think I will just ask them to move the hospital to Shelby... wouldn't that be nice!

  1. Oh Hunny.... My heart goes out to you. I am sorry that you have to be so far away from him, on top of having stressful days.
If you ever need to talk at night when you get back to your apartment, I stay up late, you can always call.

I love you, hang in there.

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
