Sunday...Ethan's First Easter

Today was Ethan's first Easter so we decided to take some pictures of him with some easter stuff we picked up for him.

This is an ugly doll given to Ethan for Easter from the Syrings (my aunt, uncel and cousin)... Mark had been wanting one really bad!

This is a little precious moments doll that says "Now I lay me down to sleep" that Mark picked up for me/Ethan... it is so precious!
This is a little lamb that Gradma and Granpa Jolovich put in Ethan's easter basket... oh so cute!

And what child should go an Easter without peeps!

Mark went out to lunch with my family that was in town while I caught up on some needed rest. Of course they brought me back some food. I had really wanted some mashed potatoes with ham gravy. They had a buffet there so Mark asked if they could get a box to go. The lady looked at him and said "no, sorry but we don't do the buffet to go." Mark looked at her and said "my wife is in the hospital today." She turned around and gave him a box right away and said "I'm so sorry." The mashed potatoes were really good!

I have been able to get around a lot better now. I have been able to get out of bed with not as much help and I was even able to walk down to Ethan's room. Of course the family spent some time at the hospital today and Diane brought her supplies to give me a pedicure! Yeah! I was so excited! I was planning on doing it on Thursday night but just ran out of time and well then Friday I was in the hospital. So a pedicure was awesome!

Our pastor and his wife came up in the evening to talk to us. They had said a prayer for all of us in both services and many people were concerned about us. They announced it as "Mark and Leah Sloan... the young couple that has recently been joining us for service." Yeah, the people we haven't even met yet I am sure knew exactly who he was talking about too. We had a little prayer and communion in the hospital and made arrangements for him to come back tomorrow to baptize Ethan.

Today we realized that Ethan still likes to hold onto our fingers, his tiny pacifier, likes his calves massaged but really doesn't like his tiny little feet to be touched! He definitely has Mark's legs as they are muscular but he has my long fingers and toes. I am afraid he might have my feet too since they seem to be really long... but thankfully it looks like he has a good arch in his foot so that would come from his dad since I have really flat feet.

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
