Sunday... kangaroo time!

Well my mom got up early this morning to take off to go back home. Mark and I decided to try to get some more sleep since we know Monday will be a long day for both of us. Of course we called the hospital to see how Ethan had done during the night and she said that he did really good... no changes really... which is good ;)

So once we got to the hospital the nurse asked if we were going to hold him today. Of course we said yes. I didn't know if we were both going to get a chance to hold him or if they just wanted one of us to do it. So of course I let Mark hold him first since this would be his first chance to hold him! He is 3 weeks old and just getting a chance to hold him... it made me sad to think it has been so long but it made me oh so happy when I got to see daddy hold his precious little boy. Ethan did really good for the whole time he held him. Mark's comment was "I'm not going to lie... I could do this all day long!" Mark held him for about 45 minutes and then he asked if I wanted to hold him so of course I jumped on the opportunity (he threatened that he was going to put him back in his bed if I wasn't going to hold him ;) So I held him for another 45 minutes. Oh I can't wait to be in OUR home in OUR rocker and rock OUR baby! Of course when we held him we did the skin to skin which is also known as kangaroo care.

Matt came to visit with us again today. Mark will be flying out tomorrow morning and I, well they are not sure when Ethan and I will be flying back yet for sure. They said that it will be Monday but most likely Tuesday because they have to get everything set up with insurance and the med flight team. They need to see if MT or WA med flight will be taking us. I am secretly (well I don't know if it's such a secret since I am posting it on my blog) but I am hoping that it will be MT along with Kailie (the nurse that brought us here ;) I have only found one nurse here that I have liked! It amazes me though that the flight here I was given a 3 hour notice that we were leaving. Now it is taking a lot longer to get the flight back all set to go. I guess they were able to fix my baby's heart and that is all that really matters!

Ethan has this thing where he puts his hand on his face or on his head... it's so darn cute!

Precious!
When Mark and I took a walk I snapped a few pictures of some flowers along the way.

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
