Monday... baptism

Today we got up early so that we could help with Ethan's cares. I was able to stand the whole time which allowed me to change his diaper for the very first time too. Ethan was so sweet as he kept looking at me while I was talking to him. He seems so relaxed when he has ahold of Mark and my fingers. It makes me feel more at ease to know that even though we haven't really got to hold him yet he does recognize us as mom and dad.

They also removed his c-pap and put on a nasal canulla tube. He looks much better and more comfortable. This is awesome that he has moved in this direction but they did advise us that sometime they have to put him back on the c-pap if they get tired of breathing on their own which happens quite often and not to be alarmed if this happens.

After cares Mark ran to Shelby to pick up our puppies so that we could kennel them for the night as no one would be at the house to stay with them. He was really pushing for time and he got back to the hospital 10 minutes before the baptism so he had left the puppies in the truck until the baptism was over.

The pastor and his wife came and did the baptism. It was really nice because Mark and I were the ones able to put the water on his head and Ethan really didn't seem to mind. The pastor's wife has played around in photography too so she knew how to work my camera so she was able to catch a few pictures during the baptism. It was just my mom, Mark and I at the baptism but we will have a regular baptism service when he is able to come home. I was able to shower and put makeup on which made me feel like a new woman! It was a very calm and relaxed day for us. We really appreciate the pastor coming to Great Falls for us.

Well we just found this kind of funny... we thanked the nurses for not throwing our little Ethan away ;) It's used for something in some sort of test (sorry can't remember what!)

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
