Friday... parenting classes?

Mark called the hospital as soon as we got up this morning to see how Ethan was doing. It was a very short conversation. Once he hung up I asked what they said. He said "I have no idea." The nurse must speak English as her 2nd language so we had to wait to see how things went when we got to the hospital. The nurse said that he was doing good. They were still able to lower his settings on his ventilator which is good.

In the afternoon my mom was looking at Ethan and noticed the line that was going in his head was gone. So I asked the nurse when they took that out. She told us yesterday. What yesterday? And we didn't notice something that I have been anxiously waiting to be taken out! So Mark said "On that note, do you offer any parenting classes?" Yeah, maybe it is a good thing we have 3 months to learn from the nurses on how to take care of our baby! Lol!

We took a little break from the hospital and found some shopping close by. Of course we had to hit up all the baby stores which I found hard because we are sooo limited on what we can take back! We did pick up a few rattles and my mom found a cute giraffe that makes soothing sounds that is really cute. For dinner, Rudy's (my mom's husband) aunt and uncle came to pick us up. They took us to a nice seafood restaurant on the water called Anthony's. It was so pretty and relaxing. We watched many sailboats and kayaks go by as we ate. It has been nice to visit with people now that the surgery is over my mind is a little more relaxed!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
