Call us! Comment! Please!

Ok so I don't mean that to sound like we are desperate for calls or comments but I know many people are just wanting to let us be because you don't want to bother us. We thank you for this as it has been rough for us the past week. However, Mark is back to work now and I will be staying in the hospital for most of the days and in our apartment at night. Mark will be coming to visit when he can during his work week and then of course staying with me on his weekends. This means that we could use the phone calls right now. I know it's going to get lonely for me and I know that it would be nice for Mark to talk to some of his friends and family too. So please don't hesitate to call. If we don't answer it's just because we are in the middle of cares or talking to the nurse/doctor but leave a message and we will call you back.

As far as comments go... I know there are many people reading this blog and I am glad to have it. It is a great way to keep in touch with all our friends and family to let them know what is going on and of course to keep it a little entertaining I throw in a few (or a lot) of our personal incidents along the way. We love seeing comments being posted... we have the blog out there to communicate to you... a comment is a way to communicate back to us ;) I am thinking of having this blog made into a book when this is all said and done (hopefully sooner than later) and the comments will be an added touch to show all the love and support we have. To comment you go to the end of the post that you want to comment on and click on comments. Then you can type your comment in the box, then there is a "comment as" drop down box where you can click name/url, then you just type your name in that box (you don't have to worry about the url) then click post comment... that's it!

We hope to hear from you soon!

  2. To Mr. and Mrs. Sloan and Baby Sloan!

Scott had a chance to talk to Mark tonight, and we both said as soon as he hung up how strong your family is! Ethan sounds like quite the fighter, and you both continue to keep your spirits up as you go through these difficult times!

All the best as you continue this journey! The pictures are great - he is a beautiful baby boy. We will continue to stay in touch! Please let us know if there is anything we can do from miles away. We can't wait until the day we can take the train to see you all! I would even miss a fair to hold Ethan...and you know that takes effort!

Take care of you both, Mark and Leah! You both need to be rested and ready for the day when you can someday take him home. I will call you soon Leah!

  5. Mark and Leah,
Your little one is so precious! It is so great to see all the photos. I am so glad that Leah is so snap happy (and talented) with the camera. I especially love the ones of the baptism. I think that making the blog into a book is such a great idea. I look forward to seeing your updates and they bring me to tears more often than not (happy tears of course). Love you all! Aunt Holly

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
