Birthday Cake

So I decided to try making a layer cake myself. I found a fudgy chocolate layer cake recipe online and it was birthday so I figured why not! I had to bake the layers seperately since I only had one pan. The first one came out looking awesome and I was so proud of myself. Then the second and third cake came out looking awesome as well! I was thinking "oh yeah I can't wait to post a picture of my perfect layer cake." Then when it came to putting the cake together... things didn't look so good. I had put the cakes on different plates until they were all cool and I was ready to put it together. Well the cakes stuck to the plates! So my perfect cake ended up with not such a perfect look!
It was soooo delicious though!
Then Mark left for work a lot earlier than he normally does and I couldn't figure it out. Then I got these beautiful flowers delivered to the house!
And of course I had to have a birthday drink. My awesome friend Kayla gave me this glass for my birthday last year since we knew we wouldn't be spending a lot of our birthdays together anymore since I was moving. Of course then I got her one. So now the deal is we need to have a drink in our glass on both of our birthdays... this year my glass was filled with sparkling grape juice ;)
Are these flowers not gorgeous!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
