The good eggs....

So Mark and I have always had a discussion about eggs.  Yes eggs.  Just the regular old breakfast eggs you buy at the supermarket.  I do the grocery shopping 90% of the time.  Mark will sometimes tag along.  When I go to pick up eggs I glance.. look for the cheapest ones... then find ones with the expiration date the farthest out and put them in the cart.  Now I know there is not much difference between price in eggs but I still feel hey they are eggs...all the same so might as well go cheap.  Now if I am looking at bread or meat or cheese then I look for nutritional value, quantity and price.  But eggs... they are just eggs!  Mark has always made it a point to say oh did you get the cheap eggs... lately he has been calling them the bad eggs.  So the other day we ran into the store and he wanted me to make him lava cake... well I needed eggs.  So I asked him to run to get eggs while I was getting some other things needed at the grocery store.... so he came back with these.....
Do you see anything special about these eggs... just a stamp on them... that is all I see.  So once Mark gave me the eggs he said oh I bought the good eggs... I looked at him and he said oh just in spite of you!  The cheap eggs were like .75 cheaper but I wanted the good eggs.

What!  I don't get it!

And now that I am talking about eggs he thought of a way that I could make money while pursuing photography.... donating my eggs!  First off I don't know for sure that I have to donate.. Secondly I have been eating the bad eggs so I only have bad eggs to give (ha ha)!  And third... WHY!  He said that he read somewhere that if you donate your eggs you will be paid $3,800!  Ok so now that is insane..... No I am not donating my eggs.  (And if you know Mark's sense of humor... he was only joking....)

So I am curious... how do you determine which eggs to buy?  Do you buy the good (expensive) eggs or the bad (cheap) eggs?

  1. First of all....HOLD ON while I run to the bathroom before I PEE MY PANTS!!!

OK, now...here are my thoughts in random order:

    1. Thank goodness! We're not the only couple in the world who has conversations like this! WHEW!

    2. Wish we lived closer so we could hang out! We'd obviously be having some seriously good fun!

    3. HEY! I buy the cheap eggs! What's wrong with buying the cheap eggs? Do the "good" eggs taste differently? huh??? Do they??!?!? LOL!!!

    4. I didn't know any brand of eggs came with a little stamp on each egg...no wonder they cost more! You're paying for the ink! And for some immigrant to stamp it on there for 2 cents/hour...nice, Mark, real nice!

&5. and donating YOUR eggs sounds like a black market human organ ring...LOL!!!

Too funny! thanks for the laugh!!! :D

  2. OK the EB eggs are suppose to be good for you, no injected hormones and the like. I have bought the "good" eggs before but not all the time...mostly because Andy goes thru them. However crack one open next to a "cheap" egg and look at the difference....it was kind of enough to make me buy one over the other. Eggs are kind of weird and ugly in general come to think of it. With that said I can't even comment on the egg donate thing. :-)

  3. WOW Leah!!!! I agree with Kelly on the fact that ... Thank Goodness we are not the only couple who has those stupid conversations.
Matt and I once had a similar "conversation/debate" over brand name mac&Cheese. Yeah STUPID!

And as far as donating your eggs... how about donating your eggs to your own cause ;). And you really can earn that much money donating your eggs, I have a friend who is doing it.
I say whatever trips your trigger!

About Me

This blog started as a hobby for many reasons. It later became a way to keep the family up to date on our micro preemie baby, Ethan. Now as Ethan is nearing the 8 year mark with a little sister of 5 years I am finding a new reason to document on this blog.

Last year we were told by the school that Ethan had cerebral palsy, a blindspot and dyslexia. That is what started it all. I started taking him to doctors to find out what was going on and why this hasn't been discovered before now. In April 2017 we were told that he has executive functioning disorder. What the heck is EFD I thought?!?! After the doctor explaining it to us he basically said that if we don't start making changes now he could fall into the ADHD or possibly the autism category. Ok... so now what? What can we do?!? Well this blog is my way of documenting it all not only for me but also to help others find their way thru similar situations.
