After cleaning up our diet I was still watching Ethan very closely to catch any changes in anything. We bought a camper so that we could still do our outdoor adventures and be able to cook our own foods easily. Labor day weekend we had a birthday party to go to. I fed the kids before as I knew they wouldn't be able to eat much at the party. Of course once all the kids were eating tho my kids wanted to eat too. Dang! I didn't bring anything with! So I did see that they had a hamburger patty that I could give Ethan with ketchup. He had 2 bites and then left his seat to play. Very shortly after we noticed he was having a reaction. This reaction was scary. He was wild. He couldn't focus. He just wanted to run and was so excited. It is hard to put into words. We were in the middle of the woods and it was getting dark out. We were scared that he would go into the woods and we wouldn't find him! We didn't know what caused the reaction. The next day we headed to Banff to camp for a few days. We made most of our food but then ordered at restaurants a few times. When ordering for the kids we just tried to stay away from mac & cheese, bread and fries. He was still having a reaction. I couldn't figure it out. So finally I said I don't care if insurance covers an E-95 Food panel blood test or not. I am over it. So we took him in and that was another game changer. (We took him to a naturopath in Kalispell that mailed the blood to Meridian Valley in WA.) It came back stating that Ethan had sensitivities to: beef, buffalo, eggs, duck eggs, flax, almond and whey. Well geez. That stinks. I didn't even know you could be sensitive to BEEF! So we immediately cut those foods out. We saw less reactions and when we did I could usually connect it to something he ate that had one of those foods in it and I just missed it. One of the few cons to this test is that if you haven't eaten a food for awhile it won't show up as a food sensitivity. The fact that buffalo and duck egg showed up on his test still has me confused as we have not ate those.
Now 6 months later as I write this I know that there is more to this. I still don't have a solution but I have read that if a leaky gut is the issue the E-95 food panel results will be thrown off. Another thing to consider is with this test we did solve the problem. The problem still exists. I am suspecting more food sensitivities that I can not pin point. The next big question is what is going on this kids gut?!?
